The subdistrict of Pancoran is home to the Kalibata Heroes’ Cemetery, the final resting place for over 7,000 Indonesian independence fighters and over 1,000 soldiers of the Japanese Imperial Army, as well as the imposing 38-metre high Dirgantara Statue, portrays the flying monkey god Hanuman from the Ramayana epic, and a monument to the Indonesian air force.
